Recently, the mutated strain of Omicron has been spreading widely around the world. Thus, the global new covid-19 pneumonia pandemic situation has once again entered into an intense stage. In response to the urgent need for clinical gene amplification nucleic acid testing of the new coronavirus, and to satisfy the prerequisite for biosafety requirements in clinical testing, the need for pandemic prevention and control, with efficiency and rapid deployment features, have been combined to satisfy the supply needs of biosafety laboratories for the prevention and control of the new covid-19 pandemic and for future public health events. China rapidly established shelter-type and mobile nucleic acid testing laboratories have played an important role in improving nucleic acid testing capabilities, expanding testing coverage, and assisting the public in pandemic prevention and control.

Developed by Beijing, the mobile shelter nucleic acid testing vehicle and Hebei manufactured shelter-type nucleic acid testing laboratory have successfully landed. According to relevant personnel, the mobile shelter nucleic acid testing vehicle and shelter-type nucleic acid testing laboratory are very popular because of their safety, flexibility and powerful nucleic acid detection capabilities. A mobile shelter nucleic acid testing vehicle can test an average of 2,000-5,000 units per day (single test, 10:1, mixed test: 20,000-50,000 units). When a local pandemic occurs, it can be quickly transferred to any location at any time as and when needed. The nucleic acid testing can be carried out immediately to support the local area. The mobile shelter nucleic acid testing vehicle and shelter-type nucleic acid testing laboratory can be set up within 4 hours at the fastest. It can also adapt to severe weathers from -50°C to 50°C. Thus, ensuring efficiency in the nucleic acid testing, and the life and health of testing personnel.

The interior design of the cabin-type nucleic acid testing laboratory is unique. Two safety barriers are designed in the cabin. Also, the two-purification equipments, the biosafety efficient exhaust unit and transfer window, are used to accomplish the relative independence for the reagent preparation area, the sample processing area, and the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplification area. MayAir biosafety and high-efficiency exhaust unit undergoes the full welding process. The unit has been tested for air tightness before leaving the factory to ensure that each unit meets the national standard or customer-specified requirements. In order to prevent the spread of harmful dust during the process, harmful substances can be sealed and filtered in high-risk process environments, such as pharmaceutical factories or drug research institutions. The square cabin is also equipped with a sample transmission channel, and a dedicated dirt channel to achieve clean and dirt diversion. Also, the cabin is kept at a negative pressure state as a whole, and is equipped with a high-efficiency air filter to prevent virus leakage, which ensures the safety of testing personnel.

Mobile shelter nucleic acid testing vehicles and shelter-type nucleic acid testing laboratories are becoming an important support for the normalized prevention and control of the pandemic across the country. It is understood that in the next step, Dana will invest more in scientific research talents for its Hebei factory. In the future, various modular laboratories, including mobile nucleic acid detection test vehicles, will be moved from Hebei to the whole country and the rest of the world.
